OUR STORY

I have loved dogs my whole life: I was that kid who constantly nagged his parents for a puppy and never got one. When the time finally came for me to get a dog I fell in love with a rescue dog from Spain. His name is Elio and he has changed my life.

I knew from the moment I first saw him that rehabilitating Elio was going to be extremely challenging. He was terrified of people, noises and cars and would tremble with anxiety and shut down in stressful situations. It took painstaking months of training, using play and positive reinforcement to get him to be the happy, sociable dog he now is (you can see his progress here), and for me to realise that I had a gift and a passion for dog training – this is how Woofology began. Since then I have been studying with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers - the leading education provider for dog trainers in the UK, which teaches force-free training techniques backed by the latest canine behavioural science.

My experience with dogs has led me to conclude that positive reinforcement training is the only effective and humane way to train an animal.

I don’t use any of the aversive techniques employed by so-called ‘balanced’ trainers, whose training methods are rooted in outdated research. If you’ve had bad experiences with other dog trainers who advised you to yank on your dog’s lead, spray them with compressed air, to use a shock collar or worse, then you’ve come to the right place.

I want to train you to become an effective leader for your dog, using only positive reinforcement so the two of you can enjoy a happy and rewarding relationship.
